Early College Program/Dual Enrollment Outreach
Early College Program
Dual Enrollment at ELAC is known as the Early College Program (ECP). It provide special part-time admit students with the opportunity to earn college credit while they are in middle school or high school. ECP courses are offered to our local K-12 school partners to help their students complete college/university requirements and/or obtain certificates early in their academic journey.
Program Benefits
- Save Time - Complete college/university requirements ahead of schedule.
- Save Money - Earn college credits without paying tuition fees and textbook fees.
- Transferrable Credits - Course credits are transferrable to universities (CSU and UC).
- Dedicated Courses - Courses are taught at the respective K-12 school sites (after school).
To be eligible for ECP classes, a student must submit an Admissions Application, a K-12 Form, and a Commitment Form (please refer to Option B under K-12 Student Registration). Students who are interested in the Early College Program are also encouraged to speak to their school counselor, as a partnership may already exist. Students may also learn more about this special opportunity during the Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions.

General Information
Student Conduct
Dual Enrollment students are expected to abide by all college regulations, policies, procedures and Codes of Student Conduct. In addition, it is the student's responsibility to familiarize themselves with important course dates (e.g., start date, end date, and/or drop deadlines - in case a student wishes to no longer attend a class).
College Records
Parents and Legal Guardians will not have access to their child's student records (including grades and transcripts) without their written consent, their minor status notwithstanding.
College and High School Credit
Students shall receive college credit for all course work completed. Receiving high school credits for college course work completed is determined by the student's respective high school. Please note that ELAC does not mail out student report cards. When necessary, students may request official transcripts with the Admissions & Records Office (fees may apply). Unofficial transcripts are available through the Student Portal.
Enrollment Fees
Enrollment fees for special part-time will be waived pursuant to Board Rule 8100.07 and Education Code section 76300 (f). Special Full-Time Students (i.e., K-12 students enrolled in more than 11 units) are required to pay enrollment fees. Special part-time students are exempt from the nonresident tuition fee pursuant to Board Rule 8100.03 and Education Code section 76140(a)(4).
Health Fee
The Los Angeles Community College District charges a health fee (certain categories of students are exempt) and, where applicable, a student representative fee. Health fees are required once per semester/session. The health fee is waived when a student is enrolled at a site where LACCD student health services are not provided (off-campus). This means that a K-12 student is exempt from paying the health fee when a college class is held at their school site.
