Deadlines
It's the student's responsibility to be aware of add and drop deadlines. Dates are subject to change. Classes may have different drop deadlines based on the class schedule. Add, drop, withdraw, and fee deadline dates for short-term classes may differ. Please check the Student Information Portal listed under the “Important Class Dates” Section on the Class Search Page.
Maximum Number of Units
Per LACCD Board Rule, students are limited to a maximum number of units during each term/session. This Board Rule limits the total units a student may enroll into prior to the start of the term/session. East Los Angeles College may allow students to enroll in additional units. Students requesting overload units must obtain approval by an ELAC counselor.

Starting Summer 2025, pay your fees on time or make financial arrangements with the college to avoid being dropped.
Cal-GETC
Starting Fall 2025, UC and CSU transfer requirements will be streamlined. Meet with a counselor to see how this affects you.
Associate Degrees for Transfer
Starting Fall 2025, if you plan on earning an ADT degree, you will need to develop an education plan before completing 15 units.
Common Course Numbering
Starting Fall 2025, some course numbering will change to align with statewide standards.
