ESL Guided Self-Placement
ESL Assessment
East Los Angeles College offers a new English as a Second Language (ESL) assessment process known as ESL Guided Self-Placement. The process involves completing a survey where students are asked to describe their ability to read, write and speak in English. The ESL survey consists of 9 multiple-choice questions. Students will receive a placement into one of the following Credit ESL classes:
- E.S.L. 3A - Low Intermediate
- E.S.L. 4A - Intermediate
- E.S.L. 5A - High Intermediate
- E.S.L. 6A - Low Advanced
