CJ Jilek is a ceramicist and educator based in Southern California. Her biomorphic ceramic sculptures are "designed to lead the viewer to a subconscious association between nature and human instinct of attraction... questioning ideas of beauty, eroticism, adaptation, acceptance, attraction, and desire."

AA, Animation, ELAC '19
Jose recently shared some exciting updates with the department. Since graduating from ELAC with an AA in animation, Jose transferred to CSUN where he majors in 3D Animation. While at CSUN, Jose has worked as a CG Supervisor on a feature film by Giacomo Puccini, utilizing the MAYA and NUKE skills he first learned at ELAC. He has since worked on a second film as a 3D Modeler and Lead AR Developer creating AR lenses. Following these projects, Jose is now employed full-time as a CG Generalist. He feels that ELAC prepared him for success, and he has been able to use many of the skills he learned here in the ELAC animation program.

2021 Animation Film Festival
The ELAC Art Department hosted our annual International Animation Film Festival from Friday, April 23rd - Thursday, April 29th. Hungarian Animation Day was hosted virtually in partnership with the National Film Institute Hungary – Film Archive, Hungary’s KEDD Animation Studio, and Cinema and Without Borders Foundation. This year's festival was the seventh edition and featured short animated films from Hungary.
The goal of the ELAC International Animation Festival is to give an in-depth and entertaining introduction to contemporary international animation. Screenings of short animated films from around the world, analyses and Q&As with a panel of well-known animation experts, and a tribute to an international animation artist working in the U.S. animation industry are all part of the festival program.
