ELAC Art History Faculty Statement of Solidarity
ELAC Art History faculty are aware of our specific responsibilities as scholars in the humanities and we practice Art History as a critical discipline. Within this capacity, we can and will commit to do more to address the historical, political, and social dimensions of structural racism, discrimination, exclusion, and brutality against women, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA communities, and all Peoples of Color. Therefore, we resolve to re-examine and modify our curriculum, pedagogy, and student support models to increase visibility and support equity for these historically underrepresented and marginalized groups.
