Important Changes


Several new initiatives and legislative updates are being implemented across the California Community Colleges to facilitate students’ college completion and transfer process. These changes affect registration, course selection, degree selection, graduation, and transfer. This information is for you whether you are a new incoming, new, continuing, or returning student.

Payment Fee Policy Change

Starting in Summer 2025 all students must have their fees paid. Follow the steps below to ensure you will not be dropped. If you have any questions reach out to the Financial Aid Office.

What you need to do:

  1. Log into the Student Portal (Mycollege.laccd.edu)
  2. Click the "Student Account" tile, then the "Account Services" tab
  3. Select "Charges Due" to view your payment due dates
  4. Pay your fees before the due date or make financial arrangements change to
  5. Take Action:
    1. Ensure your financial aid (FAFSA or Dream Act) is submitted and showing in your account. 
    2. Check if you qualify for an exemption (e.g. College Promise, Foster Youth, Military, Rising Scholars)
    3. If not covered by aid or exemptions:
      • Pay your fees online or
      • Set up a payment plan through Nelnet

You will not be dropped if you:

  • Have past due or current fee balances less than $100

  • Have anticipated financial aid sufficient to cover ALL your fees
  • Are awarded a California College Promise Grant (CCPG fee waiver)
  • Are eligible for the Los Angeles College Promise (LACP) program
  • Are part of the exempt group (e.g. Foster Youth, Military, Rising Scholars or have a government-agency-sponsored Third-Party Contract)
