ELAC Theater Arts Presents: A Lesson Before Dying
Saturday, October 19, 2024
The ELAC Theater Arts Department presents a powerful adaptation of Ernest J. Gaines' novel "A Lesson Before Dying," brought to the stage by playwright Romulus Linney and directed by Rodney Lloyd Scott. This gripping drama transports audiences to the Deep South, where they'll witness a poignant story of redemption, resilience, and reckoning.
The play follows the journey of two men: one condemned to die, and another fighting to help him live with dignity. Set against a backdrop of racial injustice, this thought-provoking production challenges our understanding of what it means to truly live and demonstrates how hope and humanity can shine through even in the darkest of times.
