Black History Month Zoom Background

During the month of February, East Los Angeles College (ELAC) is proud to celebrate and commemorate the many contributions African Americans have made to the U.S. – in business, education, literature, sports, music, agriculture, fashion, and groundbreaking research and discoveries. Therefore, this month, UMOJA, in collaboration with the President’s Office and Professional Development have several activities planned.

We are committed to enhancing the cultural and educational experiences of African Americans and other students while increasing their persistence and retention rates by combining academic learning with counseling, social support, and opportunities for cultural exploration.
