College Mission Statement Public Notice

September 25, 2023

By East Los Angeles College

East Los Angeles College is gathering feedback regarding the proposed update to the College Mission Statement. The new changes include adding bachelor’s degrees to the College Mission Statement, which reflects ELAC’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities. The college community has an important role to play in this process and that is why we are reaching out. We believe each member of the community - faculty, administration, staff, and students -  should provide input to ensure our College Mission Statement is relevant and meets the needs and assets of the current and projected student body.

Therefore, you are cordially invited to a Townhall on October 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at ELAC’s Southgate Campus in room 104. During this Townhall, you will learn about the proposed change and the process ELAC has undergone to propose this change. This Townhall will also give you an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
