Welcome to the Engineering and Technologies Department
The Engineering and Technologies Department at East Los Angeles College offers lower-division transferable engineering and career technical education courses that permit ELAC students to complete their transfer requirements and-or obtain a skill set, certificate of accomplishment, and-or an associate of science degree.
Several ELAC graduates from the department are blessed with amazing job opportunities in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering as entry level engineers or technicians. What makes ELAC students AMAZING is their journey along the way in becoming professional engineers or technicians. Faculty and staff witnessed first hand their transformation into student leaders, proficient handlers of hands on engineering tools, and of course, their tough academic work ethic.
The department has dedicated faculty and staff whose main mission is to serve ELAC students in reaching their academic and career goals. The faculty has professional work experience in the following areas: civil engineering (land surveying, hydraulics, land development, construction), mechanical engineering (manufacturing and design), biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, drafting, electrical engineering, programming, and many more.
If you are interested in our programs please reach out to us at gallegha@elac.edu, or at 323-265-8832. We look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your engineering potential.
