Disabled Student Program and Services (DSPS)

The DSPS Office provides educational and vocational support services for students with disabilities who are enrolled in credit classes. Services include alternative testing, special parking, note takers, readers, interpreters, tutors, mobility aids and equipment loans.

The DSPS Office offers five programs:

The Disabled Student Services Counseling Program provides specialized advisement, registration assistance, special orientation to the college, and liaison with faculty and staff on campus as well as with community agencies. In addition, the program provides the services and accommodations necessary for a successful college experience.

The Learning Disabilities Program is designed to develop learning strategies to maximize success in regular college classes. This program offers assessment, advisement and liaison with the campus and community.

The High-Tech Center provides adapted computer-assisted instruction, such as voice activated computer for the blind and paraplegic student. A scanner book reader and visual enlarger.

Department of Rehabilitation Services are provided via specific referrals. This liaison activity assists the student in gaining financial assistance.

Campus Transportation is provided via an electric cart, which transports students throughout the campus, parking lots, and to bus stops.
