    CANVAS LOGIN IS CHANGING FOR INSTRUCTORS

    All Canvas users will log into the NEW SIS and click on the Canvas link to access Canvas.

    NEW SIS Website: mycollege.laccd.edu
    NEW SIS LoginID: SAP ID, which is the first part of your LACCD academic email address (@faculty.laccd.edu)
    NEW SIS Password: Faculty will be using the same password to access the new PeopleSoft SIS and Canvas.

    If you need to reset your Canvas password as an instructor, you just need to follow the steps to reset your SIS password, since both systems will utilize a single-sign on.
    If you cannot reset your own SIS password, please contact ELAC IT Helpdesk for assistance.

STUDENT EVALUATION OF ONLINE INSTRUCTOR SURVEY REQUESTS

Evaluating an Online Instructor
The excellence of East Los Angeles College depends on the quality of our faculty. The policies and procedures for faculty evaluations are specific in the AFT collective bargaining agreement, Article 19 which requires that all faculty members be evaluated. As part of an instructor’s evaluation process, students need to complete “Student Evaluation of Online Instructor”. For an online instructor, this can be easily accomplished by using the learning management system, Canvas.
Evaluation Committee Chair
The periodic evaluation of a faculty is to be conducted by a department peer review committee and the Dean. Prior to the instructor’s evaluation period, please submit the “Student Evaluation of Online Instructor Request” form.

The results of the survey will be sent to the email designated by the evaluation committee chair. The survey is anonymous.

CONFERENCES

The 2016 Online Teaching Conference will be held June 16-17, 2016 in San Diego, CA. The Online Teaching Conference, which began nearly 15 years ago, is an event for faculty, staff and administrators who are engaged or interested in online education, including delivery of online services, emerging technologies, student success, library and technical support. In addition to learning, this conference is a great opportunity for educators to spend two or three days with colleagues, share knowledge, impart and receive best practices, and learn from other’s experiences.
