Programs
The East Los Angeles College’s
Commencement Ceremony is fast
approaching. This year’s ceremony is
set for Friday, May 30th at 6:00
p.m. in Weingart Stadium.
This year’s graduation theme is:
“Education Opens Our Eyes to A World
We Cannot See”
This newsletter contains essential
information for you to use in both
your preparation for graduation and
your future.
Mandatory Rehearsal, 12:00
noon: There is a mandatory rehearsal
that is required for all graduates.
The rehearsal will begin at 12 noon
on Friday, May 30th in the Women's
Athletic Field located next to the
E9 building.
Eligible Participants:
Students who have filed a petition
with the Admissions and Records
Office for the terms; Summer 2007,
Fall 2007, and Spring 2008.
Arrival Information:
Graduates: Every graduate will
need to pick up a name card prior to
the graduation ceremony.
Distribution of name cards will
begin at 4:30 p.m. outside of the
Women’s Gym, E9.
Guest Admission:
Family and guests are encouraged
to arrive early. Gates to the
Weingart Stadium will open at 5:00
p.m. Seating is on a first come,
first serve basis. Parking will be
available in the Weingart Stadium
parking lot and the ASU Northeast
parking lot. (see map)
Disabilities/Special Needs:
Students with special needs
should contact the Disabled Students
Programs and Services (DSPS) at
(323)265-8787 as soon as possible.
Family and guests with wheelchairs
or special needs can use Tunnels 6
and 7 in Weingart Stadium.
There will be a
Sign Language Interpreter at the
graduation ceremony.

Final evaluation of graduation
petitions will be processed and
mailed six weeks after the end of
the semester. Diplomas will be
mailed out 8 weeks after the end of
the semester. |
