Seven hundred
graduates crossed the commencement stage in historic Weingart
Stadium as more than 7,000 parents, guests and friends
congratulated one of the largest graduating classes in East Los
Angeles College’s history. President Robert Isomoto introduced
keynote speaker, Congresswoman Hilda Solis who encouraged
graduates to continue their education and participate actively
in their community. Vice Presidents Dr. Richard Moyer, Ms. Renee
Martinez, and Erlinda de Ocampo were joined on the platform by
Mr. Larry Eisenberg, LACCD Chancellors representative, Mr. Luis
Gomez, LACCD Board of Trustees representative, Professor David
Beaulieu, Faculty Senate President, and Associate Student Union
President, James Santana. Psychology professor Barbara Moore was
Mistress of Ceremony. Raymond Diaz gave the student address.
