GO East: Summer Bridge Academy

GO East is a FREE 3-Day Summer Bridge experience for new students to East Los Angeles College. Go East is designed to assist incoming first-year students make a smooth transition from high school to college. Participation in GO EAST: Bridges to College will help you adjust to college life and introduce and connect you to college services.

ELAC Students attended GO East: Summer Bridge Academy Event

Over the course of the 3-Days students will:

  • Understand the difference between High and College
  • Learn about various student support services and programs
  • Get assistance with course registration
  • Meet with Academic Instructors from various disciplines (Psychology, Child Development, English, etc.)
  • Learn how to navigate college - text books, the course syllabus and college classroom expectations
  • Make sure that Financial Aid Award paperwork is completely submitted for Fall 2017 funding
  • Get connected and admitted into to one of our many transfer programs: Puente, Honors, Adelante FYE, John Delloro Social Justice, EOP&S, and many more
  • Meet and learn helpful from current ELAC students
  • Off campus Trip to a local University

Requirements to join the GO East: Bridge to College are:

  • You're a high school graduate OR 18 years old
  • First-Time, Never Attended College
  • Must have submitted a new student application to East Los Angeles College
  • Completed online Go East Bridges to College application
  • Be ready to learn and make new friends!
